Use your Pi to track Aircraft Transponders!

No idea if this works in the UK but certainly worth a go. It combines a Raspberry Pi, a USB TV receiver and some software to track ADS-B signals from overhead aircraft!

  1. ADS-B is on trial in Europe, some aircraft will be ADS-B equipped and thus you should get some signals. ADS-B should be in widespread use by 2020. ADS-B receiving equipment was trialled as part of a EuroControl initiative a couple of years ago.

    • Thanks Paul. Waiting on my next “toy” budget to be approved and I’ll be looking at this as a possible project so good to know I’ll pick up something!
